Vice President of Operations and Finance
George brings with him over 30 years of accounting, operations, and financial expertise that spans the hospitality and real estate development industry as well as capital market and private equity firms. He established his career with a strong education, earning a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Boston College and earned his MBA from Western International University.
Prior to joining the Ethos, LLC, George most recently served CFO of Beechwood Development Co., Beechwood Hotel Group, and Beechwood Financial where he was responsible for overall operations of the companies including 7 hotels, real estate assets, and 2 new built hotel projects that were underway. He developed, built, and opened a Hampton Inn and was responsible for 2 other hotels projects in different stages of completion. Before Beechwood, he was the Deputy Treasurer for the Salt River Pima Indian Community including being a board member overseeing the enterprises owned by the government, which included the Talking Stick Resort and Casino, Casino Arizona, Talking Stick Golf Club, Salt River Deco (the development company), Sal River Fields at Talking Stick (MLB Spring Training Facility for the Arizona Diamond Back and Colorado Rockies) as well as the overall taxation for the SRPMIC.
While at GE Capital, George was responsible for a $200 million real estate portfolio with comprehensive financial modeling and analysis. Before GE, he was the Chief Financial Officer for Atrium Holdings, a successful private equity REIT with approximately $2 billion in assets which owned 43 branded hotels, Diamond's Casino, a golf course and subsidiary companies. He was responsible for the company's finance, accounting, treasury, budgeting, tax, development, human resources, IT and capital markets for this start-up REIT.
George started his career with Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide holding held senior level positions and oversight of the accounting and finance functions. During his Starwood career, he was Regional Vice President of Finance for Eastern US, Canada and USVI with responsibility for 96 domestic and international hotels. In addition, he was the Regional Director of Finance, Area Director of Finance and Director of Finance including the Phoenician Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona and for Starwood's hotels in the State of Texas. Prior to the acquisition of ITT Sheraton and Westin Hotels & Resorts by Starwood, he held several senior level positions for several large hotels for ITT Sheraton including the Sheraton Washington Hotel, the Sheraton New Orleans, the Sheraton Premiere, and the Sheraton El Conquistador Resort.
George is an avid Boston sports fan, enjoys working out, hiking, golfing and cooking as well.
