End-of-life planning is an act of love

We all have our own ways of showing loved ones how special they are. But many people don’t realize making an end-of-life plan is one of the most impactful ways to say, “I love you.” Having a plan for what happens after you pass away shows your inner circle that you want to take care of them, even when you’re no longer around.

Unfortunately, the number of Americans who haven’t made any end-of-life plan is staggering—37%—even though 68% agree it’s important.* Unsurprisingly, it gets even more important by generation, with the oldest (Baby Boomers) finding it most important.

Infographic statistics

It’s possible the average person’s lack of planning is actually a hesitation to talk openly about death and mortality. When asked to rank their willingness to talk about touchy subjects— like money, sex, mental health, and politics—Americans put death at the bottom of the list. It’s understandable, but is it holding too many people back from making important plans that impact their loved ones?

Regardless of Americans’ willingness to talk about death—or to prepare for it—life insurance is an essential part of that planning, since it’s a financial safety net they can count on. And 58% of Americans agree.* Now, see which life insurance plan may be the best fit for you and your family.
